Works in Progress
THE FROG PRINCE AND THE SOCIALIST REVOLUTION THAT OVERTHREW HIM is the fast, raunchy comedy following the rise of the Soviet Union and the fall of Tsar Nicholas II, complete with magic spells, cloacal mishaps, and a tap-dancing Lenin!
The story follows Anton, the only surviving member of the Tsarist dynasty, as he escapes death via a convenient magic spell and has to hide his identity. He's perfectly content to live out the rest of his sad frog life until he meets Nadezda, a high ranking revolutionary who suspects there's something more to the mysterious talking frog!
This musical combines fast-paced humor, jazzy orchestration, and lots of profanity into a modern political fable about the importance of community and our duty to others.
THERANOS: HOW I GOT ELEVEN YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON FOR WIRE FRAUD is the true story of Elisabeth Holmes and the defunct company Theranos, a blood testing tech startup which grew to a value of billions of dollars. Just one small problem: the technology Holmes and Theranos pedaled was scientifically impossible.
The story follows Elisabeth as she progressively dives deeper into deceit to hide the web of lies and what happens when one journalist decides to investigate.
The score combines jazz and electronic sounds for a contemporary score. Ultimately, the musical explores capitalism and how the system we are a part of shapes our behavior and incentivizes the worst impulses of human behavior.
